Heroine
Hello the Crystal Avenue readers! Happy December and holidays to you and your families.
On the Crystal Avenue, I bring to you “Heroine.” I originally shot “Heroine” back in August with one of my brother’s good friends, Destin, hence the summer feel the overall look gives. I know the look is not ideal for the current weather conditions. However I believe “Heroine” can be still be worn on a night out or at a holiday party, as long as you pair the dress with a coat or leather jacket.
As you may know already, I often find inspiration for my outfits from music. “Heroine” was inspired by SunMi’s song “Heroine,” a Korean pop song about an one sided relationship gone wrong, but the other person is able to get back on their feet after realizing the show must go on. With my track history with love, I resonate with “Heroine” to the T. Currently, I am at a stage in my life where I am over bs and individuals who cannot or struggle to communicate. Therefore for the styling of the “Heroine” look, I wanted to mimic the vibrant colors SunMi wore in the music video as she dances to move forward with her life.
For “Heroine,” I wore a yellow halter mini dress from ASOS. What I liked about the yellow halter dress was the eyelet hook as it gave a new meaning to having a cold shoulder. I paired the look with a pair of heels with another vibrant color: cobalt blue, to add an extra pop of color against the shade of yellow.
