Castle Walls + A Year In Review

February 2nd marks an important event on The Crystal Avenue. Today The Crystal Avenue turns one and I am wishing you all a happy one year, The Crystal Avenue readers!

My journey thus far on The Crystal Avenue has been a thrilling experience. I can’t wrap my head around the idea that merely a year ago, I started The Crystal Avenue with “Bloom Into February” and here we are now, a year later with “Castle Walls.”

My emotions are definitely scattered between astonishment and jubilance today. In between the outfits I featured on The Crystal Avenue, there were a lot of adventures, new friendships, opportunities, and learning experiences that unravelled. All in all, I am very humbled and thankful for everything that occurred. However I am especially thankful for you all. Thank you so much for enjoying the content and your support of The Crystal Avenue. I cannot wait to see what the future of The Crystal Avenue. I hope you all continue to join me on this avenue. I also hope that I will interact more with you all here and on social media outlets. So let’s promise to interact more!

For my one year anniversary, I wanted to re-create the look I wore to my cousin’s wedding back in December and incorporated a fairy tale theme. In “Castle Walls,” I am wearing Chi Chi London’s Lace Prom Dress from ASOS. What attracted me to Chi Chi London’s dress is the details of the sweetheart neckline and the contrasting lace bodice. Visually, these two elements intertwine and create an overall sweet and romantic feeling. And you can never go wrong with a little lace detail, right? I also absolutely love the color navy and cream color palette and the open back, self tie detail.

To continue the romance and fairy tale theme, I curled my hair and added a gold headband. For my make up, specifically my eyes, I was inspired to create one of my favorite youtubers, heyitsclaire’s make up tutorial for a “Softly Defined Cat Eye.” And lastly, I kept my accessories minimal with a few rings from Forever 21, a rose gold watch from Target, and navy blue heels from Nine West. I truly felt and looked like a princess, a little reminiscent of Snow White, for a few hours. What do you guys think?

Before I conclude on my one year anniversary post, I reflected on all of my looks on The Crystal Avenue and decided I wanted to share my favorite look of each month. It was difficult to narrow down one look per month. After much thought and review, they are featured below. In addition with featuring one look for each month, they are also unseen pictures and the blog information will also be listed below them. You can also click on each individual photo to view them in a lightbox. Please enjoy!
