Happy New Year, the Crystal Avenue readers! 2015 was definitely one of the most busiest, craziest, thrilling, concert packed, personal growth year to date. When I turned 25, I had no expectations on what the 2015 year would ensue. There are still a few months to go before I turn a year older, but let me tell you, I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for me.

I always feel like I am apologizing and I know I am when I am going through my archives. Thus just for old times sake, I am apologizing at the beginning of 2016 for not posting as frequently on the Crystal Avenue or my social media outlets. For those who don’t know me personally, I disconnected myself from the world of social media to truly live in the moment and spend as much time with my loved ones as I possibly could. Honestly, it was one of the best choices I ever made. In doing so, my relationships with my loved ones are now stronger and I couldn’t be any happier right now.

With the new year bringing new adventures, experiences, relationships, and continuous growth, I hope I can say the same about the Crystal Avenue and that you will all continue this adventure with me. I also wanted to say a special thanks to the photographers and dear friends: Michelle, Andrew, Joan and Vy for your assistance on the Crystal Avenue. I can’t wait to continue to work with all of you as well as any new photographer that I cross paths with.

Inspired by my very good, artsy friend Ann, the first outfit of the Crystal Avenue for 2016 is “Goodness Gracious.” When I hung out with Ann last, she had my creative juices flowing for the Crystal Avenue. She asked me “How would I spend the holidays?” I responded simply with loved ones. Ann wanted to know what did time with loved ones entail. Hence, if it was possible, I would love to be in a room, surrounded by all my loved ones during the holiday season and new year. Unfortunately, it is remotely impossible, due to the fact that all my loved ones are scattered across the world. Ann had the final follow up question, “What would I wear if it was possible to have all my loved ones in a room together?”

For “Goodness Gracious,” I went for a modest yet the classic, Crystal vibe. I have been on a search for a few mustard colored dresses and luckily, I scored one at H&M. The dress came without a belt, and felt very boxy and drapey. If you have been following me for a while now, I tend to skew towards form fitting clothes and accessories are key in my outfits. Thus I added a belt to cinch the dress at the waist. For the lower half of my outfit, I went for my comfy booties and knee high socks to complete the look.

Before I end this post, I wanted to thank another one of my good friends, Vy for taking the time to shoot with me and capturing my most genuine moments.
