Almost Lover

Almost Lover

Happy Holidays, everyone!

First and foremost, I am very apologetic today for my lack of posts on the Crystal Avenue recently. As you all may have already noticed, I have not been able to find time to blog as frequently as I would likelife has been on an all time high of being busy for me. In between my profession, spending quality time with my family and friends, and finding a balance to incorporate the many things I am passionate about, I have to remember not to overwork myself or spread myself so thinly every day. I promise as soon as life slows down, I’ll be posting more frequently again on the Crystal Avenue. Thank you all for being so patient and understanding.

As a young professional, many of my friends were telling me they were going to be attending their companies holiday parties in the weeks to come and were looking for styling advice and inspiration. Luckily, I shot “Almost Lover” back in August and did not have the opportunity to put the lookbook on the Crystal Avenue until today.

Personally when attending a holiday party, wedding, or an event that requires you to be a little bit more dressy than normal, I skew towards form fitting dresses. Whether the fit is more form fitting at the bodice or the entire dress, the all encompassing feel of the look is more glamorous and heightened. For “Almost Lover,” I chose a baby blue, baby doll dress from ASOS with pleating in the lower half of the dress. The pleating adds a little extra flair and an effortless movement to the overall look. For the remainder of my look, I kept the jewelry and accessories in a warm undertone in the colors gold, rose gold and tan, to play off of the baby blue color. With choosing my jewelry and accessories in a warm undertone, the feel of "Almost Lover" becomes more romantic, and less bold and edgy.

Speaking of holiday parties, I will be attending my company’s holiday party in San Francisco this weekend. If you are interested, check out my instagram this weekend to see what I wore. Have a wonderful December, everyone!
