April Showers

Happy April, everyone!

As April showers bring May flowers, I took the opportunity to shoot in the light rain the bay area experienced a few weeks ago for today’s look on The Crystal Avenue. I decided for “April Showers” to channel Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family for a little inspiration and to set the mood for the rainy, cold afternoon. With Wednesday Addams dark and sadistic nature, her every day wear consists of black dresses with a pop of white in the collar region, and her infamous pig tail braids. For “April Showers,” I kept Wednesday’s style of a collared dress from H&M in the colors black and gray, with simple a french braid and a faded red lip, as I wanted to create and hone into a monochromatic look. To complete the “April Showers,” I chose my trusty pair of leather black ankle booties from Aldo for height and a little bit of ease for strolling in the rain.

If you have been following me since I started the Crystal Avenue, April 2nd also marks my sister Michelle’s birthday, who also happens to be one of the photographers I work with.
