A Touch of Romance

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes! The day and weekend was filled with the sweetest individuals, intoxicating giggles, and good times. I am forever thankful, as I could never truly express the gratitude for knowing such wonderful people.

For my first fashion post and shoot as a twenty four year old, “A Touch of Romance,” was inspired by “What's in a name? that which we call a rose/ By any other name would smell as sweet;” in Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” (71-72). As one of the classic love stories about two young star-crossed lovers, the scene depicts Romeo in the garden, entranced with Juliet’s beauty from the balcony. Unaware Romeo is below, she questions and argues how the name of people and things should not matter - only what they are should be precedent. Juliet’s feelings and notions on the idea of love is truly timeless, because if we strip love between two people down to the core, a name is minuscule, as love to me has no preconceived notions.

In “A Touch of Romance,” I am wearing a midnight blue skater dress from Ruby Rox. What I love about this skater dress is the back design. As the upper back portion of the dress is criss-cross, while the middle half is a horizontal strap, the back of the dress reveals enough skin without being tacky. To keep the romantic look in "A Touch of Romance," I curled my hair, wore my gold hair band and pearl earrings, and completed the ensemble with my favorite heels from Aldo.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!
