A Winter Night

♫ Readers...do you want to build a snowman? Come on let’s go and play...Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far.

Even though it never snows in the bay area, I felt like dressing up like Eskimo, pretending to brace the winds and snowfall of winter, and tonight just happened to be the night to do so. Ergo, today’s post “A Winter Night,” is directed to those who live in colder climates. Whether your style is girly, chic, preppy, laid-back or just a mix of everything, I believe you do not have to give up on your personal style during the Winter season.

When it comes to layering and keeping your personal style, be sure to add additional layers like a thicker sweater or a winter coat over your outfit. It is important to not look like you are being swallowed in your own clothes when layering, unless that is the look you want. A tip I would give on layering is to start with the lighter pieces and end with the thickest or the clunkiest piece. If you start with the thickest layer like a chunky, wool sweater, it is more complicated to add any additional layers on top. By starting with the lighter, thin pieces, you have more styling options to build on your true fashion style, look, and personality.

For “A Winter Night,” I kept my look comfortable and simple for a night of fun on the ice rink. Under a basic cami, I wore my Tommy Hilfiger sweater and layered over my white parka that I purchased from Macy’s, and paired it with skinny jeans. Not only do Parkas keep you warm, they are one of my favorite pieces to have in a wardrobe because they are effortless to style as a layering piece, especially on a Winter night.
