The Heart of the Matter

With May under wraps, we are now at a halfway point of 2015. I continually feel like time always finds a way to catch me off guard. I am probably going to jinx myself, but watch, the next few months are going to fly by so quickly and we’ll be celebrating the end of the year holidays.

However since we aren’t there yet and June is now here to play, today’s look “The Heart of the Matter” features a sweet, simple look for prom, a wedding or any celebration that you may have that calls to be a little bit more dressed up. As you may know already, I am a sucker for pastel colors and pieces with a sweetheart neckline. When I went through my sister’s closet and saw she had TFNC Prom Dress in Chiffon in lavender from ASOS, I knew I had to create a look for the Crystal Avenue and for some styling inspiration, for my friend’s upcoming wedding in a few weeks.

Lavender is a great color to wear to a spring wedding, because it is not too flashy and symbolizes grace and elegance. I decided to continue the grace and elegance with adding a pair of pearl earrings and a pearl necklace, and created an updo with a lavender daisy in my hair. For a pop of color, I chose to pick my pearl turquoise wallet from Kate Spade to highlight and elevate the color of the dress. To close my look, I went with my cream colored heels from Aldo. Thanks Michelle for letting me borrow this sweet lavender number and as always, shooting this lookbook for me.
