Short & Sweet
It feels like it has been quite some time since I sat down and blogged. The past week has been a good level of busy with work, time with my family, and spontaneous adventures with good company. With a new week ahead of us, I bring to you “Short & Sweet.” I bought this dress from Shop Sosie a few months ago. However with the weather fluctuating, I kept the dress in my closet until now.
When I opened the Shop Sosie package and saw the dress, I knew I wanted to attempt a modern interpretation on the 60s look. Throughout the 60s, we saw a lot of loose, free flowing dresses that were just above the knees or shorter. Also, we saw the cat eye trend, especially on Edie Sedgwick and Twiggy. Thus when I began to style the look, I wanted to cinch the dress with a black belt to my waist to emphasize my curves and to add some dimension to the look. I kept my accessories simple with a pair of pearl earrings and my cream heels from Aldo. For my face, I took my eyeliner to another level and honed in on the cat eye look.
I really like the sleeves on this dress, because it gives the look another girly charm. If you are looking for a similar dress that you can currently purchase on Shop Sosie, their April Shift Dress would be my recommendation, as it already comes with a belt to cinch your waist and roll up sleeves with button tabs, if you aren’t feeling the 60s vibe.
Have a great Monday, everyone!
