Morning Sun

Hi Everyone! How are you doing? Can you believe we’re almost done with September already?

If you were not aware, I have officially moved to Los Angeles, the city of angels. An opportunity arose for work, and as cliche as it is, I felt like it was the time to spread my wings, relocate, and take a leap into the unknown. I have only been in LA for a month now, and I already feel a shift within myself. I can’t exactly describe what I am currently feeling, but I am excited to see what will unravel when I am here.

With that said, I wanted to give a shout out to my support system and the bay area. To my support system: thank you so much for encouraging me to chase my dreams. I don’t think I could have left the bay area without your support and re-assuring me that there will always be a place in the bay area for me to come home. Thank you for letting me lean on you when times were rough and always guiding me home. From the bottom of my heart, thank you and I love you all. I promise I will be back and this isn’t forever. To the bay area: thank you for being my home and giving me life experiences, my family, and friendships that I will never take for granted.

As we are wrapping up on the last few days of summer, I wanted to extend the summer vibes on the Crystal Avenue as I possibly could. When I shot today’s lookbook “Morning Sun” before I had left the bay area, I knew this lookbook needed to be shot by my sister, Michelle. If you haven’t been following me since the beginning, she was my very first photographer that I collaborated with and inspired me to create the Crystal Avenue. Michelle, thank you for all you have done for the Crystal Avenue and “Morning Sun” is dedicated to you - I’ll see you soon.

For today’s post “Morning Sun,” I am wearing a navy floral print dress from Kitsch Couture, a cute boutique located in Los Gatos. What attracted me to the dress was the sleeves, as it added a flirty vibe. And so, when I was deciding how I wanted to style “Morning Sun,” I knew I did not want to add any lavish accessories to let the dress shine on its own and to keep the look minimalistic. I made the choice to put my hair into a milkmaid braid. By putting my hair up completely, the dress is the focal point and I was able to show off my décolleté. For my accessories, I chose a pair of pearl earrings and my Daniel Wellington watch to complete “Morning Sun.”

I have a few more posts that shot in the bay area before I had left. From this post on, I will be scattering the lookbooks around for you all. As I continue to settle in la la land, please bear with me if I have periods of being MIA. For now, thank you for joining me on this new chapter of my life and I will see you soon.
