Like the words of Justin Timberlake in Nsync’s song “It’s Gonna Be Me,” we’re finally in May. I am always flabbergasted when the month of May arrives, because it is never a dull month. Not only do I turn another year older, the days suddenly speed up with a few extra projects and events to attend to, and then we’ll soon be in June. However before we get there, I bring to you “Poised Woman,” on the Crystal Avenue.
Although it is not a requirement at my workplace unless stated by my director to wear business formal attire, I lean towards dressing business casual everyday. Whether I chose to have a dresser top or to wear slacks, choosing one piece that is a little bit more refined and poised differentiates the overall look to become business casual. A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon an sleeveless olive trench style vest from Shop Sosie that I thought epitomizes my interpretation of a business casual look. With a drapey open front, a waist tie and side pockets, the length of the vest gives off an effortless movement while standing still.
I paired the vest with a basic white cami and slacks from H&M. For my accessories, I wanted to add an aesthetically pleasing element to “Poised Woman,” with a pair of silver triangle drop earrings, a grey watch from Anne Klein, and classic black heels to finish the look.
I hope the allergy season is not affecting you as badly as it is for me, and you are all doing well. I will see you again soon. Take care!
