City Dove

On February 2, 2016, the Crystal Avenue turns two. Upon a mini self-reflection, I find it difficult to comprehend my mind around the idea that the space, the Crystal Avenue, has been around for two years. To me, the duration of time feels much shorter, only because I was not as active as I was when I first started.

Thus I am apologizing with a heavy heart today. I am not one to say empty promises, so I am not going to promise I will become active as I was previously. However what I can and will promise is that I will continue to put good content and tips on the Crystal Avenue until I find some normalcy, even if it is not as frequent. Sometimes life pulls you into a direction and passions are halted. Despite the fact that I did not want the Crystal Avenue space to be one, it just happened. And so, with spending some time away from the Crystal Avenue, it allowed me to figure out how I want to revamp the Crystal Avenue website and the social media outlets. Please stay tuned to see the changes that will be unraveling.

Before I begin the outfit details, I also wanted to say thank you to all those who have supported me throughout these last two years. It does not matter if you have been on this journey with me since my very first post or have been only following for the last few - I appreciate and am thankful for you all. I am also especially thankful to those who I have worked along side whether it was for photography or to get my creative juices going. A special thanks to Michelle, Andrew, Joan, and Vy for your assistance behind the lens. I couldn’t have done this without you all.

And I know there is more to this journey and I still have a lot more to learn. Nonetheless, I thank you, who is reading this post right now, for continuing this journey with me. Here is to you and many more years to come on the Crystal Avenue.

Today on the Crystal Avenue, I present “City Dove,” a flirty February look. I shot “City Dove” with my sister, Michelle last year in San Francisco and never had the chance to put the look up. I know the current weather definitely doesn’t permit for this type of look right now, but Spring is roughly another month away. Plus it does not hurt to get a little bit of an early start on the Crystal Avenue, right?

Starting from the top, I went with a floral printed top from Faithful The Brand in a previous Daily Look box. Not only am I in love with the burgundy color, I love the flirty vibe the top emits with the sleeves cuffed below the shoulders, which is perfect for a girls night out or date night. For the remainder of my outfit, I chose to wear my high waisted pants from H&M to stay a little bit warm, create a less revealing look and to allow my shoulders to be the focal point. I finished the look with my gold leaf earrings from Target and trusty tan heels from Steve Madden to complement the main color schemes.

Thank you again for all your love and support. Have a great rest of your week and a fun Superbowl weekend! I will see you in my next one.
