The second chapter of my back to school series (the university edition) features a look for an internship. Internships are very vital in college, as they give you a network of contacts and career experience in your field or interests. Plus if the internship gives you credits towards graduation, then why not.

There are an array of internships available in college, however not all of them have a specific dress code. Thus for today’s look “Chapter Two: The Internship,” I tailored a look around an internship with a business casual dress code. Instead of choosing the classic pencil skirt and a white button up top, I am showcasing an interpretation of what business casual is to me.

You may feel somewhat restricted in the business casual attire. Regardless of what your personal style is, I believe you can find a way to incorporate your style into a business casual look. Whether your style is girly, urban, or a mix of the two, pick a piece you would wear everyday and style around it.

In “Chapter Two: The Internship,” the piece I could create an everyday look and then create a business casual look for an internship or work with would be the black Ivanka Trump heels. What I love about the Ivanka Trump heels is that they are absolutely comfortable and they exude a classic and chic vibe. And so with the Ivanka Trump heels in mind, I chose a purple flirty top with ruffled sleeves from Nordstrom Rack and skinny black jeans from H&M. Although skinny jeans are not the typical work pants, these skinny jeans work in a business casual look because they look similar to jersey knit pants and help highlight the focus on the top. For my accessories, I chose my white watch from Target, pearl earrings from Forever 21 and my Selma satchel from Michael Kors - a perfect bag to fit all your necessities. Details are featured below.

To the college students, what internships are you looking to be a part of? Leave them in the comments below - I would love to hear from you and your college experiences. I will see you on Friday for the final back to school chapter. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
