Manicure Monday: Mint Candy Apple

Today's manicure monday features Essie's Mint Candy Apple - a nail polish color that I think every woman should have in their nail polish collection. As a fan of Essie nail polishes and pastels, Mint Candy Apple could be possibly the next universally flattering nail color, because the pastel shade is in between two colors: blue and green. Since the shade is not skewed to one color, Mint Candy Apple can be worn by a wide variety of skin tones with different undertones.

When applying Mint Candy Apple, I would recommend to apply three coats on top of a base coat. Even though the color is true to what you see in the bottle, three coats brought the color's vividness on my nails. Also, I would allow for each coat to dry before adding another layer for a cleaner, elegant look. As always, don't forget a top coat for longer lasting nails and shine. Thus for $8.50 on Essie's website, or on other retailers such as Target, Zappo's and Macy's, Mint Candy Apple is definitely a color to try, especially if you are sucker for pastels like me and/or are need of a mood booster on a crazy Monday.

Readers, have you tried Essie's Mint Candy Apple? Do you have any recommendations for other mint nail polishes? Please share them with me in the comments below.
