“1, 2, 3...say peaches!”
Today the Crystal Avenue features a look for picture day. When I was in high school, there were mixed feelings on picture day. Some people were camera shy, others dreaded the day, and everyone else fell into the spectrum between excitement or indifference. I wasn’t overly excited for the day, but picture day allowed me to get dolled up for a yearbook picture if I wanted to.
If I could give a few tips prior to taking your yearbook picture, it would be the following:
- Be sure to get a lot of sleep in. My picture days were typically at the end of the first week of school, so I made sure to schedule in enough sleep to not have evident dark, under eye circles.
- If you do not already drink a lot of water already, drink up to keep your face and body hydrated.
- In terms of make up, less is more.
For the fashion portion, I chose a simple navy dress and kept the remainder of the look minimal with strappy heels and pearl earrings. As I am an advocate for simplicity, the dress gives off an elegant and sophisticated feel without much effort, which is a definite plus for the busiest girls who want to look collected while traveling from classes to after school activities. The fit dress is close-fitting and is the perfect length, as it is just above the knees.
At the end of the day, what is important is what is inside. Remember to let that inner confidence shine for the perfect picture day photo. I will see you again on Friday.
